Backend Lead / Head of Backend

We are currently looking for an experienced and ambitious Backend Leader to take over, continue the growth and uplevel our BE Team.

Job purpose:

This position is flexible. We have an existing team of 4 BE Engineers and we have a goal to hire a lot more within the next 3-12 months. To do this efficiently we need someone with leadership and management skills to join us. Our second goal is to constantly uplevel our team, both from technical and non-technical team perspective.

What you will be doing:

  • Lead BE Team in all aspects.

  • Motivate, manage performance and skills development of BE Engineers.

  • Drive technical side improvement of the platform as a whole and its BE part, including:

    • architecture

    • infrastructure

    • standards and practices

  • Define the strategy, set and track BE Team goals.

  • Be hands-on when required to drive and execute complex business or technical tasks.

  • Take part in Engineering Team processes development as part of leadership group.

  • Communicate with Product and Business to provide required expertise and keep in touch with company vision.

What is required:

  • 2+ years experience in leading a team of 3 or more engineers.

  • 5+ years as BE engineer.

  • Good knowledge of our BE stack technologies and wide knowledge of other stacks.

  • Platform architecture design experience.

  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure and DevOps practices.

  • Experience in and understanding of the various software development approaches and practises, such as: DDD, TDD, code-review, design-review, CI/CD, Automated testing, static code analysis, micro-services.

  • Ability to work with remote, english-speaking colleagues and Product Team.

  • Infrastructure: JIRA, GitLab, Kubernetes, Docker, Docker-composer, Kibana, HEAP Analytics, Katalon, Webdriver, TestRail, Confluence, Notion, etc.
